Student Ministries

Coordinator - Katie Lawson
Each week our dedicated team of volunteers and parents minister to the children. We provide a fun, loving and safe environment for children ages newborn through kindergarten. Children attend classes according to their age, enabling them to play and learn with their peers.
  • Newborns and Crawlers:  Our trained adult staff loves caring for the “littlest of these.” Through play, singing and interaction, babies encounter the love of Jesus.
  • Walkers and One-year-olds: Our focus at this age is to encourage a child’s growing mobility and curiosity through supervised play! Teachers interact with children through animated Bible stories, music, books, bubbles, climbing toys and slides!
  • Twos: Bible stories, crafts, song time and open play are specifically designed for these toddlers! We plan weekly activities that encourage small and gross motor skills. Our large activity room is full of climbers, slides, and a ball-pool for tons of fun!
Nursery care is provided for our Sunday worship services, Wednesday night and special events. If you have any questions or would like more information about the Nursery please feel free to give our office a call at 501-268-3289.

Heirborn is the high-energy children's ministry for K-6th grades.  Each week young students are led into a time of prayer and genuine worship and they hear the Word of God taught on their level through skits, puppets, and fun illustrations! Kids are challenged to live out the Word of God in faith and commitment.
    • Boys' Ministry: Wednesday at 7:00
Boys grades K – 6th grade meet each Wednesday upstairs in the gym for a fun time of learning God’s Word.  Fun games, skits and illustrations teach boys to believe God and know the Word of God.
    • MPact Girls’ Ministries: Wednesday at 7:00
Held upstairs in the Family Life Center
Mpact is our program for girls K-5th grade for the cultivation of Christ-like personal character and high moral standards. There are also classes for preschoolers, Rainbows, which is for both boys and girls.

Youth Pastors: Jason and Anita Sutton
Ablaze is the 7th-12th grade student ministry of Searcy First Assembly. Our services include exciting worship, and a relevant message. Our goal is to help each student connect with God at a deeper level, while encouraging them to live a life of no compromise. Ablaze meets each Wednesday night at 7 PM in the youth room.

College Pastors: Andrew and Courteney Muse
One of the exciting new ministries of First Assembly is the Intersection!  The Intersection ministers to college and career students who are between the ages of 18 and 29.  The group meets for Sunday School each week and also on Wednesday nights. There are many activities throughout the year for students to connect in fellowship and grow in the walk with Christ.

Andrew and Courteney’s passion is to see the college students stay connected with the local church and thrive in the relationship with Christ.

    Pastors: Justin and Katie Lawson
This Young Adult Family Ministry is a bridge for young adult couples ages 30 - 40 with or without families.  This group meets on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour and on Wednesday nights with The Intersection.

Pastor Justin and Katie love seeing young families get connected to the body of Christ through this vital ministry.  Their belief is that when a young adult couple is healthy spiritually the whole family will benefit.  There are several activities for the young adults throughout the year.

At First Assembly we offer several ministries that meet the needs of women of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life.  Our women’s ministries exist to reach and disciple women to fully know their value, to understand and enjoy their relationship with God, to have authentic community with one another, and to learn to live the abundant life!

We believe that women are at the very heart of God, that He values each and every one.  We believe God has a destiny and potential for each young lady, each woman, from the day she is conceived until the day she takes her last breath.

Opportunities for Worship Connections and Service for Women:
    • Ladies Quilting: Each Tuesday at 9:00 am, women of all ages meet for quilting and fellowship in the Quilting Room.  Many stay for lunch and continue quilting throughout the afternoon.  The quilting ministry of First Assembly provides quilts to the needy, missionaries and others.
    • Ladies Fall Retreat: Each September our women meet with hundreds of other ladies across the state for the district wide Ladies Fall Conference.  This is a time of renewal and refreshing.  The ladies worship, shop, and enjoy spiritual renewal. The conference is usually the third weekend in September.
    • Bible StudiesThe ladies of First Assembly host a Bible Study in the Spring and Fall. In the past, they have used curriculum from author Beth Moore.  These Bible Studies provide great opportunities for getting to know one another and learning God’s Word together.

First Assembly invests in Men’s Ministry knowing that when a man is discipled to be like Christ, he places a higher value on character and integrity than he does when on his own outside the fellowship of his brothers in Christ. We believe in the principle of “iron sharpening iron.” The Men’s Ministry hosts different events throughout the year such as Fish Fries and other gatherings.
The Men’s Ministry monthly breakfast is usually on the third Saturday of the month.
    • Men’s Retreat: Each March our men meet with hundreds of other men across the state for the district wide Men’s Retreat.  They enjoy golfing, fishing, go-karts and lots of food. Most of all, they are challenged to become men of integrity and faith with accountability in their daily lives.
